A CPA Member Is Seeking Volunteers For Immigrants Advocacy Organization

Posted: October 10, 2017

Dear CPA,

I am a Psychologist from Northern Colorado (Fort Collins).

I am currently involved in a grassroots organization that advocates for immigrants and their families who may possibly face deportation or incarceration frequently leaving their spouses and children without a parent(s). This leads to a great deal of uncertainty and trauma to the children.

Often these adults or adolescents who face deportation have PTSD, abuse issues or other mental health issues which might allow the to delay leaving or possibly change their immigration status.

For future cases, we are requesting volunteers who would be willing to do pro bono psychological evaluations for this population if an immigration attorney requested it.

Right now I am seeking willing psychologists to do evaluations for immigrants who may be in Fort Collins or at the ICE detention center in Aurora, Colorado.

Please reach out to me, Francis, if you're interested in volunteering.

In peace,

Francis Gaebler , PsyD
Licensed Psychologist
