The Colorado Psychological Association (CPA) is seeking nominations for four open Board positions. We are asking our members to nominate your colleagues to help shape the future of our State association and the industry.

Please nominate yourself and your colleagues by Friday April, 29. I will reach out to all nominees (and nominations are confidential) to discuss what the Board position entails and ensure their interest and consent in being included on the ballot.

All that we ask of you at this time is to send us names and email addresses of esteemed psychologists who can strengthen the voice of psychology across the state. You can access the CPA online membership directory by logging into your CPA account on the CPA website and clicking on the View Member Directory or Member Search links on your profile page. OPEN CPA BOARD OF DIRECTOR POSITIONS:

President Elect (3-Year Term - one year as President Elect; one year as President; one year as Past President) Brief Position Description: The President-Elect sits on the Executive Committee of the Colorado Psychological Association and, as a voting member of the Board of Directors, is part of the policy-setting body of the Association, with authority over the affairs and funds of the Association within the limitations set by the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. The President-Elect performs the duties of the President in his/her temporary absence or disability. The President-Elect shall be the Chair of the Policies & Procedures Committee. (During the term, the President-Elect is advanced into the President and then Past-President board seat during the 2nd and 3rd years respectively).
Member at Large - Programming (3-Year Term; 2022-2025) Brief Position Description: The Member at Large is a voting member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Psychological Association, and, as such, is part of the policy-setting body of the Association, with authority over the affairs and funds of the Association within the limitations set by the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. This position works with the Programming Chair to plan and execute CPA online and in-person events including webinars, seminars, and symposiums.
Non-Metro Representative (3-Year Term; 2022-2025) Brief Position Description: The Non-Metro Representative lives and works outside of the Metro Denver area and represents the rural membership of Colorado. The Non-Metro Representative is a voting member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Psychological Association, and, as such is part of the policy setting body of the Association with authority over the affairs and funds of the Association within the limitations as set by the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.
Member at Large Early Career Professional (ECP, 3-Year Term; 2022-2025) Brief Position Description: An early career psychologist (ECP) is a person that has received his/her doctoral degree within the last five years. The Member at Large ECP is a voting member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Psychological Association, and, as such, is part of the policy-setting body of the Association, with authority over the affairs and funds of the Association within the limitations set by the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.

Please note:

Non-CPA member nominations are encouraged; however, for an individual to accept the nomination and be included on the 2021-2022 CPA election ballot, they will be required to become CPA members.
According to the association’s bylaws, the following member types can vote and be elected or appointed to office: Full members, Academic members, Contributing Life members, Special Circumstances members and Exempt Life members.
The following member types may vote but cannot hold office: Out-of-state and Master’s Associate members.
The following member types may not vote or hold office: Undergraduate Student members, Graduate Student members, and Related-Professional Associate members. Exception: the Voting Graduate Student Representative Appointed the Board may vote on Board Matters but not as a voting member of the Association.
