CPA Diversity Mentorship Program

The Colorado Psychological Association is excited to announce the new Diversity Mentorship Program. The CPA Diversity Mentorship Program aims to expand multiculturalism and diversity awareness by connecting graduate students and psychologists in every stage of their careers.

Graduate Students

The CPA Diversity Mentorship program offers graduate students with opportunities to engage in an ongoing and supportive professional relationship. Mentees will receive guidance, explore fields of interest and expertise, and begin to grow professional networks in preparation for the transition from graduate school into professional work.

Early Career Psychologists (5 years of receiving your degree)

The CPA Diversity Mentorship program offers Early Career Psychologists opportunities to increase support after transitioning out of graduate programs while also building professional networking opportunities. Early Career Psychologists have the opportunity to serve as mentors for graduate students, in addition to mentee opportunities in pairing with mid-level and senior-level psychologists.

Mid-Career to Senior Psychologists

The CPA Diversity Mentorship program offers opportunities for mid-level to senior-level psychologists to mentor students and psychologists at various stages in professional development.

How It Works:

Mentors and mentees will be matched based on their areas of professional interests such as:

  • Pediatric/ child psychology
  • Health psychology/Integrated primary care
  • Forensic
  • Psychological/neuropsychological assessment
  • Private practice
  • Hospital/University medical setting
  • Academia/Research
  • Adult psychology
  • Geriatric psychology
  • Professional development

Once matched, mentors and mentees will be notified and encouraged to reach out to set up an initial meeting where interests, goals, scheduled meetings can be established. Monthly meetings are encouraged.
