Advocacy Alert - Action Requested!

Please take a few minutes of your time to submit comments regarding the CMS Physician Fee Schedule. At first glance, it may not sound like this impacts all of us, but it does! It has significant implications to our work and you taking a few minutes can strongly impact greater support for behavioral health! This requires large numbers and they look at the numbers from each state, so it is important for Colorado to show up strong!

Please read the below statement from APA and as always, feel free to reach out with any questions!

The annual CMS Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule has serious implications across the health care field.
These include reimbursement for telehealth services, interventions for clients at risk of suicide, treatment for substance abuse disorders and other services. Right now, many communities remain critically underserved, such as many rural communities, racial and ethnic minority communities and LGBTQA+ communities. Stronger funding for and flexibility around how these services are delivered will help reduce those disparities.

Please do not sit this out – this proposed rule is coming at a time when federal agencies – including CMS – are facing Congressional pressure to reduce spending. Now more than ever, it is important that psychology be represented in the public response to this proposal, to stress the need to preserve funding and strengthen access to mental and behavioral health services. Whether modifying new proposals to be inclusive of behavioral health or showing support for favorable policies, good policy becomes a reality only when we advocate in large numbers.

Two minutes of action on your part can protect access to key psychological services and enhance equity for underserved communities – take action today!
