The Holistic Impact of COVID on Healthcare Workers and How to Support Resilience

Continuing Education Credits: 1.0 Overview: The world is experiencing an unprecedented collective event resulting in unique medical, psychological, and economic implications. Dr. Wolfington will discuss the psychological impact of quarantine, as well as current clinical presentations of COVID-19 anxiety specific to workers within a healthcare system. Dr. Wolfington will focus on both risk and protective factors associated with mental wellness during and following quarantine. Dr. Wolfington has been embedded in Vail Health’s COVID-19 incident command since January 2020. We will also discuss Eagle County (which is a current COVID-19 hot zone)’s strategy to support behavioral health workers and first responders. Learning Objectives: 1. Identify three common psychological concerns/symptoms associated with quarantine 2. List the 2 most common disorders associated with the experience of quarantine. 3. List 2 protective factors that enhance resilience both during and after quarantine
